The 680 was certified to CAR 3 Amendment 12 on December 14, 1955. This model was created by changing the 560A model by increasing the gross weight to 7000 pounds, changing the engines to a Lycoming GSO480-A1A5 (340HP) and increasing the fuel capacity to 223 gallons. The 680 model was also known as the “Couser” Commander for its notable speed relative to its gross weight at the time.
