Special Financing Available for Dash 10T Conversion

What could be better than more power for your Twin Commander? How about more power for no cash. That's right, an upgrade to the TPE331-5 engine that pays for itself by saving you time, fuel, and maintenance dollars, and by boosting the market value of your upgraded aircraft.

Twin Commander Aircraft and Honeywell Global Finance are making an offer to finance conversion of the Honeywell TPE331-5 engine that powers all model 690 Twin Commanders (690/A/B/C/D) to Dash 10T configuration. The financing can be structured so that it is self-funding based on the savings realized with Dash 10T performance. The TPE331-10T conversion and special financing are offered through authorized Twin Commander Dash 10T sales and service centers.

The Dash 10T conversion boosts the thermodynamic rating of the standard TPE331-5 engine more than 19 percent, to 1,000 shp compared to the Dash 5's 840 shp. The higher thermodynamic limit means the Dash 10T can maintain maximum rated continuous power (717.5 shp) in the climb to about 15,000 feet (in standard conditions) compared to about 6,000 feet for the Dash 5.

It means the engine produces more power in cruise flight, which translates to about 12 percent faster cruise speeds-300 knots true airspeed-compared to a Dash 5-powered Twin Commander. Faster climb and faster cruise means shorter flight times, and that means an estimated seven percent lower fuel consumption, as well as reduced flight time. These benefits comprise the core value elements of the Dash 10T conversion-increased aircraft value, lower cost of ownership, increased operational effectiveness, and improved safety. And now there's an easy-to-use online "Value Calculator" that allows operators to analyze the true cost of the Dash 10T conversion.

Operators make Value Calculator inputs based on their unique operational profiles. The calculations take into consideration the financial benefits of reduced flight times with Dash 10T power, fuel savings, etc. The result is a net cost summary tailored to the specific operator. The Value Calculator dynamically changes the output based on the customer's inputs. The output is the Net Present Value (value in today's dollars) of the operator's investment in the TPE331-10 conversion when factoring in the annual savings made possible by the conversion and the increased market value of the aircraft.

The Value Calculator can be used to analyze the investment in the Dash 10T conversion whether done at a major engine maintenance event-hot section or overhaul, or on a continued-time basis. The Value Calculator helps operators put the upfront investment in the Dash 10T conversion in perspective by considering all of the financial and safety benefits that accrue over time.

Under the special financing option, the customer can select the most suitable term, and in many cases the financing can be structured so that the customer matches payments to the recurring savings generated by the TPE331-10 conversion. In other words, the customer effectively receives a free conversion.
